Man 'opened jeans and started touching himself' near young woman as Gardai probe sick Dublin train incident

A Garda investigation has been launched after a man allegedly exposed himself to a young woman on a Heuston Station bound train this week.

Irish Rail has issued an apology after the young woman reported the shocking incident to a staff member on the train from Limerick to Dublin.

The man was sitting in the aisle across from her and began talking to the woman before allegedly "opening the buttons on his jeans and touching himself" according to the passenger.

He then allegedly followed her to another carriage before the woman spoke to an Irish Rail employee on the train.

Irish Rail ensured that the man was kept in a separate carriage from the woman for the remainder of the journey, as is protocol.

They have issued a statement saying they are extremely sorry to the woman and Gardai are probing the incident but no arrests have been made yet.
