Man 'on the run' from police hit by car

A man "on the run" from police was hit by a car in Fazakerley before being arrested.

Emergency services were called to Longmoor Lane shortly after 9pm on Tuesday to reports of a crash between a cyclist and a Fiat 500. Road closures were quickly put in place while officers dealt with the incident.

While at the scene it was discovered that the 36-year-old man on the bike had reportedly ran from police earlier in the evening. The man, from Wirral, was arrested on suspicion of escaping lawful custody and suspicion of drug offences.
