A man was sectioned after being rescued from the roof of a Wagamama restaurant in Speke .
The patient, in his 30s, was taken to hospital after the incident in New Mersey retail park shortly after 11pm last night.
Officers from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, the North West Ambulance Service and Merseyside Police were called to the scene.
A police spokesman said the ambulance service requested assistance at 11.27pm reporting concerns for the safety of the man.
Emergency services were called after the man got onto the roof of nearby baby shop Mamas and Papas, before crossing several roofs before ending up on Wagamama restaurant.
The spokesman said: "The man was helped down with the assistance of the fire service and was taken to hospital.
"He was then detained under the Mental Health Act.
"There were no reports of any injuries."
