Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash with an Audi in Salford.

The man was rushed to hospital after smashing with an Audi Q2 on Oldfield Road at around 10.20am on Friday, September 20.

The rider, who was on a black and red Aprilia motorcycle, was travelling towards Regent Road.

The Audi was turning right onto Regent Retail Park, GMP said.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 30s, remained at the scene and the road was taped off.

No arrests have been made, police said.

GMP did not confirm whether the rider, who suffered a head injury, has been released from hospital.

A spokesman for GMP said: "Investigators are appealing for any information and want to speak to anyone who saw the incident take place, has dash-cam footage or saw the motorcycle in the area before the collision."

Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 0161 856 4741, quoting incident number 899 of September 20.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
