Man on horseback taunts drivers queuing for petrol

A salesman has caused a storm after taunting drivers while riding his horse.

Gus Dolphi rode the horse past a queue of drivers lining up for petrol.

My London reported how the 26-year-old trotted past a Shell refill station in Greater London, chanting "queuing for petrol, but I'm on a horse. I don't need petrol, 'cause he runs on carrots."

Footage of him, which has gone viral, came after a dare between friends.

He said: "My friend posted the first video on Twitter as a joke and it went semi-viral," Gus explained. "It had a few million plays on different platforms.

"Then I joked about doing it on a horse and all my friends said, 'how will you find a horse?'"

Gus's friends egged him on by telling him recreating the video wouldn't be "as good as the first", but Gus's most recent clip has since gone viral.

"It was challenge accepted," Gus said. "Horse called Ranger found, ridden and a viral song has been born."

Gus said he "didn't really need petrol" and intended to leave it "for everybody else" as the fuel panic-buying crisis continues across the UK.

Despite government warnings, motorists have been panic buying petrol for almost a week over fears of a shortage of HGV drivers to deliver fuel.

It is hoped pressure on filling stations should start to ease with many cars now carrying more petrol than usual, according to a joint statement from leading suppliers, including BP, Esso and Shell.

"Although I am mocking panic-buying I do appreciate the stress the petrol crisis will of put on people around the UK and I do feel for those people," Gus said of the crisis.
