Man on explosive substances rap after police and bomb squad raid in Inverness

A man has been charged in connection with possessing explosive substances following a police raid in Inverness.

A bomb disposal squad and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended the swoop in the city’s Anderson Court area on Sunday morning.

A 51-year-old was arrested and will appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday.

Police Scotland confirmed it had been a “pre-planned operation” which targeted the property.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Following a pre-planned operation at an address in Anderson Court, Inverness, a 51-year-old man has been charged in relation to possession of explosive substances.

“He’s due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday, September 13.”
