Man on £100k paint stripper car damage rap after incident at Scots garage

Police investigating an alleged paint stripper attack at a Scots garage which reportedly left 13 motors with around £100,000 worth of damage have charged a man.

The 35-year-old has been charged in connection with causing extensive damage to vehicles at Murray Motors in Fraserburgh.

The incident was reported to officers on Tuesday, March 23, sparking a major probe to find the person responsible.

Police Scotland have now confirmed that a man has been arrested as part of their enquiries.

He is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Wednesday, March 31.

Detective Constable Sean Horme, of Aberdeen CID, said: "I would like to thank the members of the public who assisted with our investigation.

“This type of behaviour and selfish disregard for property will not be tolerated in our communities.

"If you have any concerns or information relating to criminal activity in your area, please contact police on 101 or 999 if it's an emergency.

"Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
