Man named by police after body found in house

A man's body has been discovered on the Wirral.

Police said the sad discovery was made at a house in Upton on Monday.

Today police confirmed William Leathwood, aged 75 died at his home in Moreton Road on Monday, December 7.

Police have said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death.

The search is now on to trace Mr Leathwood's family with efforts so far drawing a blank.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "Liverpool and Wirral Coroner’s Office is appealing for information to help trace the next of kin of a man who recently died in Upton.

"William Leathwood, aged 75, sadly died at his home address in Moreton Road on Monday, 7 December."

The spokesman added: "There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death."

Anyone with information that may help trace Mr Leathwood’s next of kin is asked to contact Coroners Officer Lea Cripps on 0151 233 0150.
