Man nabbed fleeing Aust after police raid

A man has been arrested at Sydney airport trying to board a flight to Dubai. (AAP)

A Sydney man has been busted trying to flee the country after detectives allegedly found $7 million in cash buried underneath a concrete floor.

The NSW Police drug and firearm squad launched an investigation in 2020, which last week culminated in raids on two homes in Marrickville and Roselands.

While searching a shed at the Roselands property, police say they uncovered a stash of money hidden under a concrete floor.

The cash - estimated to be more than $7 million - was seized and, following further inquiries, a 39-year-old Earlwood man was arrested at Sydney airport.

Detectives nabbed the man around 9pm on Thursday, as he was attempting to board a flight to Dubai.

The man has been charged with knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime and has been refused bail to appear at Central Local Court on Friday.
