A man suffered severe burns after a microwaved egg exploded over his face.
Gary McDougall tried to poach an egg inside the cooker but when it came out it burst across his eyes, cheek and nose.
He had cracked the egg into a cup and blasted it in the microwave for 40 seconds, something he had done a "million times" before.
However, Gary was rushed to A&E by a friend who was with him at the time after it exploded when he scooped the egg out with a spoon.
Gary said: "I was poaching an egg like I have done a million times before.
"You boil the kettle, fill an ordinary teacup half way up with water and then crack the egg into the cup.
"You then put it in the microwave for 40 seconds and voila, one poached egg.
"When I took it out of the microwave and placed the soup spoon in the cup to fish the egg out, the egg popped and the boiling water exploded all over my face and chest leaving severe burns.
"I went to A & E to seek out immediate medical help and I am now on the mend.
"Two things that are positive from this experience is I can still see out of that eye but more importantly...we could have been facing each other when I went to take the egg out but we weren't and she escaped uninjured."
A picture of his injuries shows dark red burns covering the top half of Gary's face while his right eye has become so swollen he is unable to open it.
Painful red scald marks cover him from his neck to his bellybutton from the incident.
Gary shared his experienced on TikTok captioned 'Don't poach eggs in the microwave', where he warned viewers of the dangers of poaching eggs in the microwave.
In the video Gary said: "Have you ever tried to make poached eggs in a cup in the microwave?
"Well I've done it a hundred-million times and last night it didn't quite go to plan.
"This is not a TikTok for sympathy or to get any messages or that, I will get better soon. I'm not made of glass.
"Just be careful if that's what you do, because sometimes it goes wrong.
"Be careful alright, don't poach eggs in the microwave."
Gary isn't the only person to have been badly injured in this way.
Earlier this year, mum-of-two Áine Lynch, 35, was injured in her attempt to follow a tip from Loose Women panellist Frankie Bridge, who showed viewers how to cook poached eggs in the microwave.
Áine cooked the egg the same way that Gary did, only for her breakfast to explode in her face, leaving her with burns all over her face.
In July, Chantelle Conway, 25, had also been using the dangerous hack, which she had been doing for two years, before it went horribly wrong.
She was left with severe burns to her face and chest as the water in the cup exploded out.
