Man 'lying on the road' hit by van in 4am Crossgar collision

A man who police say was “believed to have been lying in the road” has been injured after he was hit by a van.

The incident occurred in the early hours or Monday morning, the PSNI said in a statement.

Officers are investigating the collision on the A7 Belfast Road in Crossgar early this morning, Monday October 5.

A police spokesman said: “It’s understood a Ford Transit struck a man who is believed to have been lying in the road at around 4am.

“The man, 41, sustained a number of injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment.

“Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area and who may have seen anything that could help the investigation to please get in touch by calling 101, quoting reference 128 05/10/20.”
