Man lured into assault by group of teenagers after one threw an egg at his car

A man was assaulted by a group of teenagers after one threw an egg at his car.

Gwent Police said the 20-year-old man was driving in Sirhowy View, Pontllanfraith, Blackwood, on Saturday, November 27, when a youth launched an egg at his car.

The man exited the vehicle and followed the teenager, but was subsequently assaulted by a group thought to be aged between 16 and 18 years old.

Officers are now appealing for information following the assault which occurred at about 7.45pm.

Gwent Police issued an appeal on social media.

A spokesperson said: "We’re appealing for information to an assault in Blackwood.

"A man was assaulted by a group of youths, aged between 16-18 years old, in the wooded area near to Sirhowy river at about 7.45pm on Saturday 27 November.

"The victim, a 20-year-old man, was driving on Sirhowy View when one of the youths threw an egg at his car.

"He got out of the car, followed the youth, and was subsequently assaulted by the group near the river.

"If you can help please call us on 101."
