Man 'lost his temper' and assaulted someone, court hears

A man "lost his temper" and assaulted someone while he was with his partner, a court heard.

George Hull, 24, of Apsley Road in Newbridge, Bath, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm of Gary Beck on March 8, 2018.

But a judge at Bristol Crown Court adjourned the matter for sentence, pending a report from the probation service as well as written clarification of Hull's basis of plea.

Allegations in the assault include use of a broken mug as well as kicking, the court heard.

George Threlfall, defending, said it was another incident arising out of Hull being with his partner and being provoked by people being offensive.

Mr Threlfall said: "He agrees he lost his temper."

He added his client secured a job a week before lockdown to which he hoped to return.

Judge Martin Picton bailed Hull, pending a pre-sentence report, for sentence on July 2.

He told Hull: "I don't know what the outcome will be.

"There is a report on how you are doing on a current order.

"All options will be open, including custody."
