A devastated man said he feels like someone has 'stolen' his heart after both his parents and his sister died from coronavirus.
Richard MacVicar's mother, father and sister all passed away after contracting the virus within two weeks, DerbyshireLive reports.
His parents Keith, 84, and Jean MacVicar, 82, died a fortnight ago.
Then their daughter Jayne also became ill, and died over the Easter period.
Jayne, a 62-year-old mother-of-two, had developed symptoms after the deaths of her parents.
Richard, her younger brother, had appealed to friends to pray for her recovery.
"Come on, Jayne, stay strong and fight this please," he posted on social media.
But now Richard, 60, confirmed that his sister died at the Queen's Hospital in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
"It’s with heartbreaking regret to say Jayne has lost her battle for life," he said.
"At least we have the comfort of knowing she is back with mum and dad.
"To lose half your family in the space of two weeks feels like someone has cut me open and stolen my heart. So, so wrong."
Before her passing, Jayne had took to social media to appeal for people to stay at home, and observe social distancing measures.
Jayne, who previously worked as a crime analyst for Staffordshire Police, had swapped her profile picture for one that said: "Stay home, it could save lives."
