Man linked to Ashfield MP Lee Anderson denies 'white-supremacist' allegations

A man who has been linked to a Nottinghamshire MP has spoken out after reports of being a white-supremacist and far-right racist. Martin Dudley, also known as Martin Fluke, has addressed the allegations for the first time after a photo of him and Ashfield MP Lee Anderson has been published online.

Lee Anderson, who was promoted to the Deputy Chairman role of the Conservative Party earlier this month, was pictured with Mr Dudley giving out trophies at the ‘Skegby Scooter Club’ annual awards. Mr Dudley was wearing a yellow and black Fred Perry polo shirt - discontinued by the brand after it became associated with the far-right group the Proud Boys in America.

Mr Dudley's name and details also feature on the British National Party (BNP) membership list on the Wikileaks website. He confirmed to Nottinghamshire Live that he was a member for one year, "about 25 years ago".

Replying in messages over social media, he added: "Never did anything with BNP, just had their newsletters sent to me, that is all. I could not even tell you who is the leader now. Never went on a march or any meetings."

Mr Dudley also displays a tattoo of a version of the Celtic Cross - which is used as a symbol by white nationalists and white supremacists. In one of the photos that- circulated online, he was seen wearing the same symbol on a T-shirt, along the text 'no remorse white pride'.

He addressed the claims about the tattoo and his attire, adding: "The tattoo is a Viking tattoo, and the shirt is an old skinhead band. [The polo T-shirt] is an American thing, it is actually Fred Perry, what the Proud Boys wear and you can buy them in the UK."

He had denied any links to anti-semitism, far-right racism and white supremacy, adding: "It is a joke I am being linked to that".

Mr Dudley also went on to explain the relationship between him and Mr Anderson. He said that their connection is based on the 'charity work' for the Skegby Scooter Club, which is a club for Vespa and Lambretta enthusiasts based in Skegby, Nottinghamshire.

He added: "My connection with my MP is charity work. I know him, he is my MP and lives in Ashfield area where I live. The last time I saw him was in August."

The Sunday Mirror is reporting that Nathan Bratby, another club regular who has been snapped with former miner Mr Anderson, supports white supremacist punk bands.

It also alleged that a third man, Paul Reeson, seen with a trophy and shaking hands with Mr Anderson, published a social media post telling British Muslims: “This is England, my England. If you don’t like me, or my fellow English men and women, leave our shores... or feel the wrath of the steel in my hand.”

Nottinghamshire Live has approached Lee Anderson MP for a comment and the Sunday Mirror approached Mr Bratby, Mr Reeson and Mr Anderson for comment.
