Man left with 'suspected stab wound' after reports of three men armed with machetes in St Paul's

A man was found with a suspected stab wound by officers after reports of three men armed with machetes in St Paul's.

Avon and Somerset Police was called just before 7.30pm on Friday, July 17 by a witness reporting seeing three men armed with machetes chasing three other people.

The police force added: "The caller said they had seen the three armed men in Grosvenor Road, St Paul's, Bristol.

"Officers attended and found a man with a suspected stab wound in Franklyn Street.

"Forensic teams examined the scene."

The statement said the man received hospital treatment but was discharged overnight.

"Officers carried out a search but found no trace of the suspects," it continued. "Police remained in the area carrying out house-to-house and other enquiries overnight and the investigation continues."
