Man left with 'substantial facial injuries' after alleged early-morning attack in Cardiff

South Wales Police is investigating after an alleged serious assault in Cardiff left a man with 'substantial facial injuries'.

The incident is believed to have occurred during the early hours of Saturday morning in the Dumballs Road area of the city.

A man, who is in his 20s, was taken to the University Hospital of Wales to be treated for his wounds.

The road was closed in both directions for more than three hours on Saturday - from about 4.50am until 8am.

South Wales Police are investigating the incident and is urging anyone with information to to contact them on 101, quoting occurrence 2000207357.
