Man left with serious injury after disturbance near Cumbernauld Road

Two people have been arrested after a man was seriously injured in Glasgow's east end.

Emergency services found the injured man on Cumbernauld Road around 8pm on Tuesday evening after the disturbance on Aberfeldy Street.

Multiple police vehicles and an ambulance were spotted outside Nisa Way store in Haghill after the incident unfolded.

The 25-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary to be treated for a serious injury.

A 26-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested in connection with the incident a short time later.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "A 25-year-old man who had sustained serious injury was traced on Cumbernauld Road and taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

“Police arrested a 26-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman in connection with the incident a short time later. Enquiries remain ongoing."
