Man left with serious injuries after trying to stop thieves stealing his car

A man was left with serious injuries after he tried to stop thieves stealing his car.

The 32-year-old was rushed to hospital following the incident in the early hours.

He suffered leg and foot injuries.

In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said officers were called to an address on Ravenoak Road in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport, after two men entered a property and stole car keys.

They got into the man's car, before he tried to stop the thieves.

No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue.

The full GMP statement read: "At around 4.40am this morning (Wednesday, September 8, 2021), police were called to Ravenoak Road to reports of a burglary.

“Enquiries have established that two men gained entry to a property before stealing the victim's car keys and making off in the victim's car.

“The victim - a 32-year-old man - attempted to stop the offenders from making off in the car and received leg and foot injuries.

“Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The North West Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics ‘took a patient to hospital following a call from police at 4.42am’.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
