A man has been taken to hospital with a serious head injury following a police incident in Walker.
Pictures show multiple police vehicles on Monkchester Road, while paramedics treated a male at the roadside.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning.
ChronicleLive approached Northumbria Police for comment, although a member of staff said the force currently had "no information to pass".
A North East Ambulance Spokesperson said: “We were called at 10.22am this morning to Monkchester Road, in Newcastle, to concerns for a patient with a serious head wound.
"We sent one ambulance and took one male patient to hospital."
The incident occurred on the East End street, which is home to Monkchester Road Nursery School.
It is a few hundred metres from both Harbottle Park and the Walker Dome.
It comes on a busy weekend as Northumbria Police dealt with a number of incidents across the region.
