Man left with serious head injuries following gang weapon attack

A gang of thugs carried out a violent weapon attack on a man and left him with a serious head injury in Bishopton.

The brutes pounced on the victim outside a premises in Greenock Road last night, leaving him with head injuries which needed hospital treatment.

The 34-year-old was rushed to Paisley's Royal Alexandra Hospital following the serious assault, which took place around 9.45pm.

The attackers then fled the scene in a car and left the injured man lying in the street.

Extensive enquiries have revealed four male suspects were involved in the incident and cops are now appealing for help from the public to trace those responsible.

The first suspect is described as in his 20s, of slim build, with short dark hair.

He was wearing a grey hooded top with white inside the hood, a black gilet, black bottoms and black trainers with a white sole.

The second suspect is described as in his 20’s, tall, of slim build, with a shaved head.

He was wearing a grey hooded top, grey/khaki jacket, dark jeans, and white trainers.

There is currently no descriptions for the other two men.

Detective Constable James Campbell said: “This incident saw a man sustain a serious head injury and it is vital we trace those involved.

“I am appealing for anyone with any information which may assist us to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage to contact us.”
