Man left with serious head and facial injuries after vicious attack on Scots street

A man has been attacked on a Scots street and left with a serious head and facial injuries.

The 51-year-old was attacked by two men on Camelon Crescent, Blantyre around 1am on Sunday, August 29.

Emergency services attended the scene and the man was rushed to hospital for treatment to his injuries, Police Scotland.has confirmed.

The first suspect has been described as a white male, roughly 6ft in height and of a heavy build.

He had been wearing dark clothing with his hood up at the time of the incident.

The second suspect has also been described as a white male, roughly 6ft in height but of a slim or medium build.

He had been wearing a blue top and black shorts at the time of the assault.

The police are now asking anyone who was in the area or seen any vehicles entering or leaving surrounding streets to come forward.

Detective Constable Gareth Laird from Cambuslang CID said: “This appears to be an unprovoked attack and we are still checking relevant CCTV images for any additional information.

"I would urge anyone who was in the area on Saturday evening or early hours of Sunday morning to come forward with any information they may have.

"Likewise, I would be keen to hear about any vehicles which may have been seen entering or leaving the surrounding streets around this time.

"It may not have seemed important at the time but the information may prove significant to our investigation.”

Anyone with information has been asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0315 of 29 August, 2021.
