Man left with 'serious facial injuries' after gang armed with wooden pallet attack him

A young man was left with serious injuries after being attacked in Wilmslow town centre.

Detectives say the victim ended up in hospital following the nasty assault last weekend.

The 22-year-old from Stockport was set upon by four men in Hoopers car park on Alderley Road at around 2.30am on Saturday morning.

The attack then continued in the alleyway between Revolutions bar and the club Olivers.

One of the gang, police say, was armed with a wooden pallet.

The victim suffered serious facial injuries and went to Stepping Hill Hospital for treatment.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Det Con Daniel Lawton of Cheshire police said: "This was a nasty assault involving a number of men who left the victim with serious injuries.

"I believe there will be people out there who may have witnessed this take place or have information on who was responsible.

"I want to take this opportunity to encourage them to come forward and report it and help with the investigation."
