A man was left with serious facial injuries after he was assaulted in the picnic area of a busy service station on the A303 near Yeovil
The 57-year-old victim was taken to hospital after he was assaulted by a woman at the Cartgate Services.
The incident happened between 4pm and 5pm on Friday, September 25.
The woman is described as white, of small build, with long dark hair and she left the scene in a black 4x4 type vehicle.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
A police spokesman said: “Did you see this incident or have any information which could help us to identify this woman?”
