Man left with jaw and eye socket injuries after nasty assault in Retford

A man has suffered jaw, cheekbone and eye socket fractures after a nasty assault in north Nottinghamshire.

Police were called to West Retford Hotel and Restaurant in North Road, Hallcroft, Retford, after a man was attacked.

The assault is believed to have occurred on Amcott Way and the attacker is not known to the victim.

It happened at around 9.40pm on Monday, September 30.

The male victim suffered fractures to his jaw, cheekbone and eye socket and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to a man in a van who stopped to help following the incident.
