Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted outside a pub in Stockport, leaving him with 'horrific injuries'.
Emergency services were called to St Petersgate in the town centre at around 9pm on Saturday, November 23.
A man entered a nearby pub, where the victim - a 36-year-old man- was spending time with a friend.
The man approached the victim who then followed the offender outside.
Once on the street, the man brutally attacked the victim.
Paramedics attended at the scene and the victim was taken to hospital with a serious head injury.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
Police are now appealing for anyone with information about the attack to come forward.
Detective Inspector Lisa Bradley from GMP’s Stockport Division said: “This was an extremely violent assault on a man who has suffered horrific injuries as a result of this criminal behaviour.
“We are treating this incident very seriously and I am particularly keen to speak to anyone that was on or around St Petersgate at the time of this vicious assault and may have heard or seen anything unusual or suspicious.
"If you can help our investigation please get in touch immediately.”
