Man left with fractured jaw after attack by two men on footpath

A man was left with a fractured jaw after being attacked by two men on a footpath.

Gwent Police are appealing for information following the assault which happened on Saturday, January 30 in Caerphilly.

The victim, a man in his 30s, said he was walking along a footpath near the former 49 Club in Trecenydd area, near The Cresent between 10.30pm and 11.30pm when he was attached by two men.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "The victim, a man in his 30s, required hospital treatment for his injuries which including a fractured jaw.

"The first suspect is described as being a white man, in his mid-20s, of slim build and around 6ft2 in height. He was wearing a light grey hoodie and light grey jogger bottoms.

"The second suspect is described as being a white man in his mid-20s, around 5ft9 and of medium build. He was wearing a dark coloured hoodie.

"We’re appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault or who may have seen the two men described above in the area at the time of the assault."

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have seen the two men described are urged to call Gwent Police on 101 quoting reference number 2100040634.
