Man left with facial injuries after gang storm Kilmarnock house in brutal attack

A man has been brutally attacked in his own home by a gang.

The 37-year-old man answered the door to his Kilmarnock home to four men on Bonnyton Road on Friday between 6am and 7am.

Police say that the gang came inside and proceeded to assault the victim before making off in an unknown direction.

The victim was treated at Crosshouse Hospital for serious facial injuries and later discharged.

Detective sergeant Lianne Kelly from Kilmarnock CID said: “This is believed to have been a targeted attack on the victim and extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace the men responsible.

“We are appealing for anyone who was in the surrounding area around the time of the incident, and noticed four men making off from Bonnyton Road or anything at all suspicious, to please come forward.

“We would also urge any motorists with dash-cams, who were travelling through the junction at Bonnyton Road and Munro Road during this time, to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 1350 of Friday, 11 June. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.”
