Police have launched an appeal after a man was assaulted on a Dundee street.
A 33-year-old man was on Brook Street near to a taxi rank in the Broughty Ferry area when he was approached by another man who was not known to him.
A verbal altercation took place before the man assaulted the victim. He was punched to the head multiple times.
The man then took off west down Brook Street and the victim was left with facial injuries which required medical treatment.
The incident happened around 1.45am on Sunday, September 12.
Police are appealing for anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
The suspect is described as in his early 40s, 5 ft 10, of average build with dark hair and a short, trimmed beard. He was wearing a black long sleeved dress shirt, jeans and dark shoes.
Constable Andy Masterton from Dundee Police Station said: “I am appealing for witnesses to this incident, as well as any motorists with dash-cam footage who may have been passing through at the time.
“There was also a black Hackney taxi at the rank at the time of the incident, and I would urge the driver to please get in touch with us as he could have information to assist our enquiries.
