Man left with critical injuries after stabbing in Sydney's west

A man has been taken to hospital in a critical condition after allegedly being stabbed by his girlfriend at a home in Sydney's west.

The 37-year-old man was found with a stab wound to his chest in South Penrith on Saturday afternoon, police said.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital with critical injuries.

Officers said the man's 19-year-old girlfriend was arrested at the scene and was taken to Penrith Police Station.

No charges have been laid.

Parts of the street have been cordoned off as police investigate.
