Man left with broken jaw after 'violent' attack by 2 men near Mansfield

A man was left with a broken jaw following a "violent attack" in which two men assaulted a driver and his passenger near Mansfield.

The man was sat in his parked car on Church Street, Warsop, when Conan Davidson and Jordan Wall launched the assault.

The incident took place on Sunday, July 21, 2019, when Wall opened the door and punched the driver in the face.

The passenger was then dragged from the car and punched several times by both Davidson and Wall.

The victim was left with a broken jaw as a result of the assault and required surgery to have a plate screwed into his jaw bone.

Both Davidson and Wall pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm and were sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday (August 19).

Davidson, 27, of Hatfield Avenue, Mansfield, and Wall, 24, of Limestone Terrace in Mansfield Woodhouse, were jailed for 15 months, suspended for 18 months, and were told to pay £2,500 in compensation to the victim.

They were also told to attend a 31-day behavioural programme and to complete 120 hours of unpaid work.

Detective Constable Tim Baker, who investigated the incident, said: "This was a violent attack which had a significant impact on the victim’s life as a result of their injuries.

"Violence is completely unacceptable and we will always do what we can to put perpetrators before the courts.

"Everyone deserves to go about their lives in safety and without the fear of being attacked."
