The man is said to have been set upon at around 2pm on December 26, 2020, in Dundee, by a man driving a blue Vauxhall Zafira.

Police Scotland said the incident occurred in the city's Clepington Road, near the junction with Pitkerro Road, after the alleged attacker had parked his vehicle in the street.

He is said to have crossed the road to confront the alleged victim - then assaulted him, leaving him with facial injuries and broken glasses, before driving off westwards along Clepington Road.

The appeal was posted on the Tayside Police Division Facebook page.

It read: "We are following a positive line of enquiry, however would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed any part of this incident, which took place in the middle of the day on a very busy street.

"We would particularly like to hear from anyone who drove past and may have captured any part of the incident on a dash cam.

"Both parties involved are of South Asian appearance.

"The alleged attacker is further described as about 5ft 10, stocky build, with short black hair."

Anyone with information should call 101, or speak with any police officer, quoting incident number 1926 of December 26.
