Man left with bite to ear and fractured eye socket in horrific Wallsend attack

Police have released images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with an assault which left the victim with a fractured eye socket and a bite to the ear.

Officers were called after a 24-year-old had been attacked in Wallsend .

It's believed he was attacked by two men who then fled the scene shortly after.

The victim suffered a bite to his ear and a fractured eye socket as a result of the incident, which occurred at around 4.40pm on April 8 outside an address on Bedford Avenue.

Police investigating the assault have now released an image of a man who was in the area at the time of the incident and may be able to assist officers with their enquiries.

The man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 045265L/19 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
