A resident was left terrified after a burglar threatened them with a knife in his own home in the early hours of this morning.
At around 1.40am, a man in his late 20s broke into a home in Inchicore and threatened the resident - a man in his 30s - with the knife.
While the man who lived in the home was left scared and shaken by the incident, they were thankfully uninjured in the incident.
The burglar was unable to escape and was arrested by gardai at the scene, and is currently being held at Kilmainham garda station.
A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí in Kilmainham [are] investigating an aggravated burglary at a house on Tyrconnell Road, Inchicore, Dublin 8 in the early hours of this morning, Saturday 30th January, 2021.
"At approximately 1.40a.m. this morning one man (late 20s) gained access to the house and proceeded to threaten the resident, a man in his early 30s with a knife. The man was shaken but uninjured as a result of the incident. The suspect was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Kilmainham Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984."
