Man left seriously injured as two arrested over 'disturbance' on Scots street

Two people have been arrested after a man was seriously injured in a 'disturbance' in Greenock.

Police raced to Holmscroft Avenue in the Inverclyde town, close to Greenock Health Centre, just after 4.30pm on Saturday April 10.

The alarm was raised over a disturbance in the area.

Officers confirmed that one man suffered serious injuries. He was raced to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

The man's condition and the circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be confirmed.

Officers confirmed a man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Record: "Officers were called to a report of a disturbance on Holmscroft Avenue, Greenock, around 4.35pm on Saturday, April 10.

"One man sustained serious injuries and has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

"A man and woman have been arrested in connection.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
