Man left 'screaming, crying, throwing up' at 'scandalous' price of breakfast roll

A man has spoken of his shock after paying almost £6 for a breakfast roll with nine fillings.

The man from Dublin popped into his local SPAR deli to pick up something to eat for breakfast.

He ordered a sub, which contained nine fillings. But he was left 'screaming, crying and throwing up' after forking out €7.10 for it, approximately £5.96, reports Dublin Live.

Stunned at the price, he took to Twitter to vent about it - but people were divided.

The man shared a picture of the offending roll on the site, where it was simply captioned: "Screaming, crying, throwing up."

He was charged over €7, almost £6 (Leebonnie2707 / Twitter)

Adding in the replies: "It wasn’t 9 fillings. There was 9 items. 2 sausages, 2 rashers, 2 pudding, 2 eggs and a hash brown which is pretty standard hahaha."

Since being posted, the tweet has gone viral, being liked thousands of times.

Many people in the comments also agreed that the price was far more than they would expect to pay.

One person said: "What’s in it? Caviar?? Absolutely scandalous."

Another wrote: "Jesus wept... Did Gordon Ramsey make it???"

A third commented: "In my takeaway, I would charge €4.50 for that! I hope yours came with gold leaf on it."

Someone else said: "I would have just given it back to them and said naa."

But a few people thought the price was completely justified, and actually quite a bargain considering how many fillings he asked for.

"Works out at just under 80 cents an item..? How much do you think it should be? Seems about right to me," said one person.

Another added: "It’s less than that if you factor in the actual roll itself. Plus butter/sauce etc."

A third put: "That’s what you get you getting nine fillings wtf."

What do you think? Is it worth the money or was he overcharged? Let us know in the comments.
