Man left mortified after his first day at new job goes terribly wrong

Starting a new job can be a nerve-wracking experience.

There are a lot of new things to learn and you're desperate to make a positive impression on your new colleagues.

The last thing you want to do is embarrass yourself on your first day.

This can feel especially important this year when we're living during extremely difficult times, creating more stress.

But with the coronavirus pandemic causing constant upheaval for our lives, people can be forgiven for making mistakes while trying to adjust to this year.

And one man discovered how easy it is to slip up and make a rather embarrassing mistake.

The video shows a woman and child waiting in a queue to have their temperature checked and hands sprayed with sanitiser before entering the building.

But in a big mix-up, the security guard accidentally sprays the child with sanitiser in their eyes instead of using the forehead thermometer.

Whoops.

As soon as the child clutches their eyes, the man realises the mistake he's made.

You can see the pain in his eyes as he just replays what happens before suddenly walking away from the incident.

User @anakarma_ shared the incident with the caption: "First day on the job! Oopsies. #fail #overwhelmed."

She explained in the comments how the man mixed up the hand sanitiser and thermometer - adding that it was a "mistake."

Lots of people were left in stitches by the unfortunate incident after learning that the child was fine.

One person joked: "First and last day."

Another guilty person added: "I'm laughing so hard but at the same time I feel so bad for the kid, oh my."

A third commented: "Guys he clearly did that by accident.

"Anger is not the answer in any situation. If he did it on purpose then yes that would be a different story."

A fourth added: "Poor wee lass but this is hilarious.

"I've watched this over and over."

Another TikTok user was left mortified recently after discovering that she wasn't muted on her Zoom lecture.

The video on TikTok captures the excruciating moment she zooms in on the guest lecturer and comments: "This man is so sexy, are you f***ing kidding me? I will listen to anything you say."
