Man left in critical condition after collision between lorry and cyclist

A man has been left hospitalised in a critical condition after a collision with a lorry in Co Down.

The PSNI said it was reported that a cyclist and a lorry were involved in a collision shortly before 1:30pm on Sunday.

As a result, two emergency ambulance crews, one HART paramedic and the Air Ambulance were all dispatched to the scene.

A Northern Ireland Ambulance Service spokesperson said the male was later transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

PSNI Inspector MacDonald added: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dashcam footage available, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 955 13/09/20.”

The Annalong Road has since reopened.
