Man left covered in blood after being stabbed over £650 scooter

A man was left covered in blood after being stabbed over his e-Scooter.

Michael Williams, from St Helens, came to Liverpool to enjoy the sunshine with a friend on Wednesday, April 14.

But at around 11.30am, the 32-year-old claims he was attacked by two men who were trying to steal his e-scooter. Michael says he was stabbed while he walked through the Islington area of the city, on Erskine Street.

Michael said his ordeal left him worried about younger people who may be travelling around the city on e-scooters, after his made him a target.

Michael told the ECHO : "You can’t have anything these days, it’s horrible.

"I’m not even bothered about the scooter but I don’t want it happening to any little kid, these people don’t give a s***.

"I just think you need to watch out when you’ve got one, they could have done some serious damage there with that blade, all for a little e-scooter, it’s f******* pathetic."

Michael said he was first approached by a young man, described as being in his late teens, around 18 years old and 5ft8.

Then another man, around 40 years old, over 6ft and with a bald head.

The e-scooter that was stolen from him cost around £650 and is a Xiaomi Pro 2 black scooter with a red light on the back with the plastic cover missing.

Describing what happened, Michael said: "I was outside the Royal hospital with my friend, we came to Liverpool for the day because it was a nice day so we got the bus from St Helens and I had an electric scooter with me.

"I was pushing it on the pavement and this lad grabbed my scooter - I had a wrestle with him and just as I went to get it off him a man, about 40 [years old] with a bald head, came from the other side.
