Man leaves everyone fuming over 'pathetic' gift for girlfriend following fallout

A cheeky chappy has found himself in hot water on social media, after sharing the 'thoughtful' gifts he bought for his girlfriend, in an attempt to smooth things over after a big row.

Jack Sullivan took to Twitter to share three gifts he purchased for his partner, alongside a cheeky little note which left some people in stitches and others fuming.

He shared a photo of the presents, which included a beautiful bouquet of roses, a delicious looking box of Thornton's chocolate, and... a box of Tampax.

"The chocolates are cos I love you. The flowers are cos I’m sorry," the note read, before things turned a little sour.

His joke didn't quite go to plan on Twitter (@SullivansTweets / Twitter)

He continued: "The Tampax is cos I’m still not sure why I’m apologising so I guess you’ll need these any day now."

Captioning his cheeky tweet, brave Jack wrote: "Went pub last night and come home and had a bit of an argument with the missus.

"I’ll be the bigger man and apologise.." If you can call it that!

The tweet has since been shared more than 27,000 times, and has racked up thousands more responses; some finding him hilarious and others from people who would rather see him stick his flowers and Tampax where the sun doesn't shine.

"I hope she slaps those roses around your head," while another joked: "How was the sofa to sleep on? Comfortable?"

A third fumed: "Are you really apologising if you’re saying 'I’m not sure why I’m apologising' and suggesting that you don’t need to because period/PMS = overreaction."

"Thought it was cute until I got to the tampons part … it’s 2021 and y’all are still dismissing your girlfriend’s emotions to the period joke?? Pathetic," a fourth added.

Looks like you're still firmly in the doghouse, Jack.
