Shocking footage shows how a man climbed onto the wing of an aircraft and tried to enter the plane's cabin in front of horrified passengers.
The incident was filmed onboard an Azman Airways plane moments before it prepared to take off from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, Nigeria, on Friday.
Passengers appeared confused and frightened during the security breach, telling staff to open the doors so they could exit.
Police say they have arrested the suspect but have not explained why he was trying to get inside, CNN reported .
His name and age have not been released by authorities.
The plane had been cleared for take off from air traffic controllers when the incident took place, Federal Aviation Authority of Nigeria spokeswoman Henrietta Yakubu said.
The pilot of the plane slowed down and then turned off the plane engine after spotting the man exploring the aircraft's wing.
Mrs Yakubu said the plane taxied back for a 'thorough check' before departing for its destination in Port Harcourt, a city located in the east of the country.
