Man, late 50s, dies in crash between motorcycle and pedestrian in Co Dublin

A man in his late 50s has died after a crash between a motorcycle and a pedestrian in Co Dublin.

The incident occurred on the Malahide Road between the Artane roundabout and the junction with the Kilmore Road at around 9.45am this morning.

A male pedestrian died in the collision, with his body removed to Dublin City Mortuary for a full post mortem examination.

The male motorcyclist was taken to Beaumont Hospital with minor injuries.

The road currently remains closed as Garda forensic teams examine the scene, with local diversions in place.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí at Coolock are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward, particularly any motorists who were travelling in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Coolock Garda Station on 01- 6664200 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111."
