A man was knocked out after a brutal attack by a gang of robbers in Liverpool city centre.
Today detectives issued grainy CCTV images of five men who may have information on the sickening scenes in Harrington Street which saw the gang help themselves to a wallet containing £400 and the coat off their victim's back after leaving him unconscious.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was set upon by the thugs as he made way down the side street off Castle Street at 3.10am on Wednesday, December 4.
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said the man was able to get a taxi home after coming round. It is not known whether he later required hospital treatment.
Detective Inspector Phil Atkinson said: "We are working to piece together exactly what happened during this vicious attack and robbery.
"We think these five men pictured may hold valuable information so I’d ask them, or anyone who knows them, to contact the police as soon as possible.
"If you were in the Harrington Street area at the time and saw anything or have heard anything since, please come forward and we will take positive action to find those responsible and put them before the courts.
“We are also keen to hear from any taxi drivers who were in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage.”
