A man who shot dead his girlfriend's lover and fled the scene in Samut Prakan died shortly afterwards when his car hit a truck.
The murder happened in flats at Bangpoo Industrial Estate about 8.15pm on Saturday.
According to eyewitnesses, a man in a white shirt and jeans arrived in a white Honda Jazz car, left the engine running and entered the building. There were two gunshots, a woman screamed and more gunshots followed. The visitor ran back to his Honda car and drove away. The incident lasted about seven minutes.
A man was found dead on the stairs between the first and second floors of the building. Police identified him only as Narongchai, 37. He was shot twice in the chest, once in the back of his neck and once in his right thigh.
The suspect was later found dead in his car, which had crashed into the back of a truck on the Chon Buri-bound side of Debaratana Road.
Police said the motive appeared to be a love triangle. The slain man was believed to have been developing a relationship with the suspect shooter's girlfriend.
The police investigation was continuing.
