Man killed in West Humboldt Park shooting: police

A man was shot dead Friday in West Humboldt Park, according to police.

The 31-year-old was standing on a sidewalk about 10:35 p.m. when a red car pulled up in the 1500 block of North Keeler and someone inside fired shots, Chicago police said.

He was struck in the chest and taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he died, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the death.

Area North detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
