Man killed in West Garfield Park shooting

A man was shot to death Friday in West Garfield Park, police said.

About 8:30 p.m., the 27-year-old was in the 3900 block of West Jackson Boulevard when someone opened fire, striking him in the chest, Chicago police said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details on the fatality.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
