Man killed in Washington Park shooting: police

A man was found shot to death Saturday in Washington Park on the South Side.

Officers responding to a ShotSpotter alert for gunfire at 4:08 a.m. in the 300 block of East 61st Street found him in the middle of the street with a gunshot wound to the head, according to Chicago police.

The man, whose exact age was not immediately known, was pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the fatality.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
