Man killed in crash near Loyola University Chicago: police

A man died Monday after he crashed a vehicle near Loyola University Chicago in Rogers Park. The university’s sign was damaged.

A man died Monday after he crashed a vehicle near Loyola University Chicago in Rogers Park on the North Side.

The single-vehicle crash happened about 3 a.m. in the 6400 block of North Sheridan Road, Chicago police and fire officials said. The man, 30, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the death.

Loyola spokeswoman Evangeline Politis said the crash damaged the university’s sign but did not involve students or staff.

The Chicago police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating.
