A man was killed Saturday when he was shot in Roseland on the Far South Side.

The man, 29, was standing on a porch about 6:30 p.m. in the 100 block of West 109th Place when someone appeared from the gangway on the side of the house and began firing shots at him, Chicago police said.

He was struck in the chest and rushed to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, but later died, police said.
