A man has died following an incident on the M4 in Swansea .
The incident happened at around 3pm between junction 45 and junction 44 of the M4 at Llansamlet.
According to South Wales Police , it is still ongoing and emergency services remain at the scene.
The incident closed both the eastbound and westbound sides of the M4.
Westbound later opened, but eastbound remains shut.
There have been long delays in the area, with travel time estimated at around 50 minutes, and surrounding roads also affected by congestion caused by diverting traffic.
A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "The incident on the M4 between J45 to J44 is still ongoing – we can confirm one man has died and we ask traffic to continue to avoid the area.
"Anyone who may have witnessed this incident should contact 101 quoting occurrence 1900355050."
